WHY Taxpayer’s Association-of Tanzania?
Taxpayer’s Association of Tanzania (TATA) is a development partner, a voluntary non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit making organization that was founded and got registered under societies ordinance (Cap 337) of the laws of United Republic of Tanzania
Taxpayer’s Association of Tanzania is also a national organization with its headquarters located at Dar es Salaam .
TATA is affiliated to the World Taxpayers Association -WTA with Head Office located at 5-1495 stock Holm- Sweden.
The main goal of the Taxpayer’s Association of Tanzania is to bring together all taxpayers, for the purpose of enhancing effectiveness and efficiency of tax system, to provide clear information about Taxation to the General public on compulsory requirement to contribute to the government through taxation voluntary. As a civil society organization we aim to strengthening taxpayer’s education that strives to promote voluntary tax compliance, fair taxes, widening tax base, and enhancing revenue collection.

Taxpayer’s Association of Tanzania is an advocate, a supporter and disseminator of high standards Tax payer education, Taxpayer education initiatives can play a vital role in contributing to improved tax morale and voluntary compliance, and this contribution can be maximized by careful planning and design.
We use various Taxpayer education initiatives, range from public open teachings, TV broadcasts, tax fairs and webinars, with aim of transforming alarming relationship among taxpayers, tax systems and tax administrations for their mutual benefit and society as a whole.”
We also involve in;
- Undertaking thought leadership projects, to help administrations respond to current and future challenges and opportunities, including those arising from the rapid digitalization in business and tax field.
- co-creation of common approaches, tools and solutions, including through collaboration with different tax groups and other stakeholders,
- Sharing of leading practices, knowledge and experiences among experts from all type of tax, through TATA websites and other media.
- We arrange support programs for capacity building, including through training, workshops, peer-to-peer support and knowledge sharing networks.
Through our lobbying skills, media savvy, policy expertise, we provide practical and unrivalled solutions to all taxpayers’ challenges.
